  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

Most of the time I will use a reusable mug at home. However, Sometimes I will go to a coffee shop and get a single-use coffee cup. I honestly prefer the coffee I drink at home more and its more sustainable and cheaper so I should just stick with coffee at home.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

I am sadly not surprised. It is much easier than you think to waste food. I rather save this extra money than waste it on uneaten food.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

Sometimes I will forget to bring my reusable water bottle somewhere and end up buying bottled water. I can put a reminder on my phone for me to not forget to bring my reusable water bottle.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Say No to Plastic Straws
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

I always forget to bring a reusable bag to the grocery store and end up using a lot of plastic bags.
