Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

Plastic water bottles are definitely convenient and sometimes I forget to fill my reusable bottle up before I leave from home. However, I have a renewed interest in wanting to steer away from plastics due to cancer causing agents they can release when used.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Reduce refined sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

Yes, I know I'm addicted to sugar. I'm still in the process of withdrawal BUT it's getting easier to avoid the sugary treats.

I joined the challenge because I was made aware of the website through my college. I joined the actions I did because they were generally the same things I do on a daily basis. I also believe the things I do will make a difference.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health More Fruits and Veggies
How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?

    Susan Flanagan's avatar
    Susan Flanagan 9/16/2021 6:08 PM
Fruits and veggies are good for energy. Lean meats are good in moderation. I'm not sure anything humans use from the planet has a positive effect. 🤔
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I practice my meditation mainly outdoors. When I'm outdoors I gain appreciation for the environment. As I walk around I pick up trash to help the environment.

By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

I need to remember to bring my cup with me or I could also store an extra clean cup in my car daily. I know I can do this!
