Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Less Screen Time
What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

For me it was hard making the time to be off of screens. For my job I have to be at a computer the whole time and with school right now I'm sitting at my computer all day. I chose to just take my dog for a walk, and then spent some time working on a painting I got for Christmas.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Choose LED Bulbs
Switching out your lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?

The easy answer to this is simply turning off electronics when not in use. Another answer would be buying electronics and lights that are more efficient.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

I carry a reusable water bottle with me and if I think I will be in a place without access to a refill station I make sure I have enough water to last me until I get to a place where I can refill it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Core Values
What are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?

    Katrina Kapellusch 3/01/2021 2:58 PM
My top core values are my family, my mental health, and my success. I narrowed it down by what will make me happy now and in the future.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Track my Purchases
What have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?

I didn't track my spending but I did create a budget and from there I will track my spending.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Turn it off
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

Where I live, electricity is generated by power stations. These cause sulfide pollution and cause respiratory diseases.
