I think this challenge has given me a lot to think about for how I can become a more environmentally aware person as well as given me a new outlook on sustainability!

After a lot of long days, life seems to have settled down a bit, and even though I'm still swamped I enjoy the little moments of meditation where I can breathe.

as we approach the end of the school year I definitely think I could have done better and had more things I could have done. but I'm decently proud of what I accomplished because I had a lot of challenges that I wouldn't have been able to face last year. I did enjoy learning new things about food apartheid and environmental justice as well as finding new ways to use "single-use containers"

I ACCIDENTALLY ANSWERED FOOD APARTHEID ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE POST. Environmental justice is as followed:
"Environmental justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies" -US EPA
Many times people are disproportionally impacted by historical and systematic racism and classism. This can make it harder for people to earn money, have access to education, and healthy food.  Lower-income areas are more likely to be targeted for less safe jobs such as coal plants. The point of environmental justice is to help diminish these gaps between people and help place laws to help protect those who need an equal opportunity.

I had a really big test today and because I crammed the night before I meditated in the morning and for once I feel a little confident on this test! After Truman and I went on a long walk and today was much better than yesterday! We brought home a few "single-use" containers from a diner party! new Tupperware we had nothing for soup!

Today I was the one in need of help because my car began to fill with smoke and I got to learn how to get a tow truck when your phone is dead. Don't forget to put oil in your car!

Whenever we get a plastic container we save it and use it as cutlery and Tupperware
