  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Know My health

There are multiple effective ways of to deal with physical and emotional stress of problems we face. Emotional stress I face can be coped with activities such as going to the gym or going on a walk on a trail. I can help others in the same situation by taking them with me and spreading awareness.

Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

    kunj kordia's avatar
    kunj kordia 11/25/2019 9:26 PM
Walking instead of driving can help you get to know your city or town better and helps you notice little things that you might miss while driving. You can experience nature and it is relaxing as well.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Switch to Cold Water
What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

    kunj kordia's avatar
    kunj kordia 11/17/2019 12:59 PM
With the money you could be saving on being more energy conscious, you could use that money to invest in some energy efficient, water saving products or just something that will help the environment in the long run . These can be products such as long lasting LED bulbs, low flow shower heads, solar panels, gardening, etc. These changes could save you even more money and slow down environmental issues than before!

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Say No to Plastic Straws
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    kunj kordia's avatar
    kunj kordia 11/06/2019 4:37 PM
Single use items are very prevalent in our society, so it is really hard to stop using them. I am guilty of using a lot of plastic bags while shopping, for trash cans, and just to easily carry items and dispose of the bags afterwards. This can be easily substituted with paper bags or reusable bags, and the best part is that they are very cheap!

I agree with you. I am very guilty of using plastic bags when grocery shopping, but I have turned over a new leaf for the past few days! I actually began to use my reusable bag everytime I shop and I am very proud for making that huge change.

What are some of the needs that water meets or benefits that water provides for you?

    kunj kordia's avatar
    kunj kordia 11/06/2019 4:34 PM
As water is essential for human life, we use it for many things. Hydration is a key benefit that water provides for us. As well as hydration, hydration sustains human life by producing vegetable and crops that we all consume. Without water it is almost impossible for us to get our food!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

    kunj kordia 11/06/2019 4:30 PM
Water is an essential that humans need to survive. Although we think water is unlimited, its not. There are many ways to reducing your water footprint. As well as 5 min showers, you could replace the shower head with low flow, saving more water. Turning off water while brushing, using a dishwasher instead of hand-washing , and turning down water pressure are all some very effective ways to reduce your water footprint!

Riding a bike around campus is probably the most efficient and cost effective way of getting around. Me riding my bike is much faster than walking, and uses up no fuel. Buses take up a lot of fuel and time is wasted by waiting for a bus. Using a bike is eco friendly, faster than walking and maybe even busses, and cost little to no money while in use.
