Participant Feed

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Choose Two-Sided Printing
Choosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?

I can show others how to do it and tell them how it helps to save papers. I think it could be encouraged by companies if they knew the benefits for the environment and financially.

Two sided printing can save about half the cost of paper use, and encouraging no printing saves even more!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Try a New Way to Prep
Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

Salsa because my mom loves it and I think it would be a great gift to give to her.

Salsa is easy to can. You just need a pot deep enough to cover your jars with water.

My echochallenge is going well. I'll be able to accomplish one of my goals, driving less because my work is shutting down on Friday.

Sorry your work is shutting down, but there always something good about not driving as much.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Dancing. It's fun, allows you to express yourself, and gives you the chance to listen to some good music

My cats generally think I've lost my mind when I'm dancing, but sometimes you just have to!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Cassandra Lovins's avatar
    Cassandra Lovins 11/07/2020 3:32 PM
I could start to use reusable bags when shopping at the store and reduce the amount of plastic water bottles used by using reusable cups.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Switch to Cold Water
What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

    Cassandra Lovins's avatar
    Cassandra Lovins 11/07/2020 3:30 PM
With the money saved, I will save it up for bills or blow it on Amazon shopping for stuff I don't need.
