  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?

I found myself feeling fuller quicker, while eating less. I think eating while focusing on other stuff made me not realize that I was not actually hungry anymore, so I kept eating.

I also noticed more the flavours of the food.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

I never really payed attention to just how many plastic bags I received in a week. I actually had 2 reusable fabric bags, but always forgot to bring them with me when I went shopping.

It wasn't until I went to USA and Europe, and had people charging me for each plastic bag, that I realized that I was actually using too much plastic and that it's extremely easy to forgo the plastic bag and use your own bag, or simply carry the stuff by hand.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?

I think preparing a meal with meat is just so easy, and other meatless-meals alternatives are not really well known, or are thought to be expensive. But having a vegetarian, or even vegan, meal is quite easy, you just have to plan ahead and buy the right ingredients.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Power Down the Computer
What are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?

Turning down the lights when I'm not using them, and also when there's available sunlight in the room.
