Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 each day that I do this.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 5 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Erica Mittenzwei 11/17/2019 9:37 PMPurchasing reusable products is extremely important. I have reusable containers for bringing my lunch to work instead of one time to-go boxes. If I do get a plastic to go box from a restaurant, I wash it afterwards and save it for more uses. I also use reusable water bottles to decrease my plastic bottle usage. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Power Down the ComputerWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Erica Mittenzwei 11/17/2019 9:34 PMCharge your phone during the day rather than leaving plugged in overnight. Then, unplug the charger when it is not in use.
