  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Join a Local CSA
Dependable fresh food, better prices (cutting out carbon-heavy supply chain and grocery stores), supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these benefits (or others not listed here) inspires you the most?

Cutting out the carbon-heavy supply chain and grocery stores is great, plus it is really convenient to have good food delivered straight to your door!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?

    Timmy Mooring's avatar
    Timmy Mooring 11/19/2020 10:15 AM
I am a lot more appreciative and thankful of my food when I eat without distractions, and it tastes better too! I also have more time to think about things that are my own thoughts, instead of been giving thoughts by looking at a screen.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Reduce refined sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

    Timmy Mooring 11/10/2020 9:51 AM
I still crave sugar but I am able to control myself more now and avoid it or eat healthier and less sugar instead!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Power Down the Computer
What are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?

Taking showers that are colder or not as warm is actually good for you, saves energy and money too!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

The next step for me would be limiting my water usage of the sink and turning it off when I wash my face at night.
