This week I have been staying at a hotel for a tennis tournament. I think it is so easy to be less mindful when staying at a hotel of the electricity that is being used. I make sure that everyday before we leave to our matches we turn all the lights off and have the air conditioning off so that we aren't wasting energy while we are away.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Adjust the Thermostat
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

This week it has been a lot warmer; instead of turning on the air conditioning, I opted to open up all the windows and allow fresh air to circulate throughout our home.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Turn it off
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

This weekend I was home for Easter and became more aware to turn off the lights that were not in use.

When it was raining a few weeks ago in San Diego, my roommates and I collected rain water so that we could use it to water our plants indoors.
