Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

Choose Organic Ingredients
I will enjoy 2 meal(s) cooked with organic ingredients each day.

I will enjoy 2 meatless meal(s) and/or 1 vegan meal(s) each day this week.

Quinn OHara 4/23/2021 11:48 AMFor my campus Ecochallenge, I chose 3 Level 1 daily actions to complete this week. First, I chose "Skip the Straw" from the Waste category. I typically will go get coffee or an iced tea of some sort, and often times, I take a straw. In this challenge, I will be choosing not to use a straw and instead, putting my drink in a reusable cup that has a reusable straw. This will be helpful for the environment, as well as allow me to reach my goals for this challenge. Second, I chose another Level 1 daily action from the food category. This promise is to enjoy 2 organic meals each day. While this is something I occasionally do, it is not something I am particularly conscious of. When I do my grocery shopping this week, I will keep this goal in mind, along with my third and final action. This is another Level 1 action from the Food category. I said I would eat 2 meatless meals and 1 vegan meal each day. I am not vegan nor vegetarian, but I know there are various substitute meat products that are better for the environment, and oftentimes, better for my health as well. I am excited to look into and shop for these products, all while taking the steps to better myself and the environment around me.
