This can be helpful for my health because working on oneself is important like anything else. We value ourselves as we should value others
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community Engage In Active Listening
What was it like to actively listen to someone? How did both people and the conversation(s) benefit from active listening?

Being able to know and understand different perspectives is important.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

    Maribel Pantoja 2/19/2021 5:50 PM
I like this assertion because it speaks to love and nurture nature because it is important.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community SIGN UP TO VOTE
Why is voting important to creating a just, sustainable, and thriving world? In what other ways can you actively participate in important decision-making?

    Maribel Pantoja's avatar
    Maribel Pantoja 2/10/2021 10:46 PM
Voting is important because everyone gets a say in government which leads to our leaders listening to the public. I believe by attending public meetings or joining student councils can improve decision-making.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Walk Instead
Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Does this statistic describe your own transportation habits? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?

    Maribel Pantoja 2/10/2021 10:42 PM
I think walking to destinations is better than driving for better exercise and lowering CO2 emissions.

    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

    Maribel Pantoja 2/09/2021 8:29 PM
I have always used a reusable coffee cup.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
