Jamie Segrini 4/21/2022 3:30 PMEco challenge has been a great way to remember to incorporate sustainability into our daily lives, one day left! -
Jamie Segrini 4/19/2022 1:40 PMOnly a few days left! we are doing great -
Jamie Segrini 4/19/2022 12:38 AMI love reading other people discussions posts and reflection questions! It is a great way to see other perspectives of the other challenges -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Engage In Active ListeningWhat was it like to actively listen to someone? How did both people and the conversation(s) benefit from active listening?
Jamie Segrini 4/19/2022 12:31 AMBeing there for someone to simply just listen can benefit both sides, being able to hear someones point of view broadens your own mindsets, while allowing the other person to release something they've kept in their mind. This is also important to practice in small arguments. -
Jamie Segrini 4/19/2022 12:27 AMMy favorite part about eco challenge is the check-ins, I used to be aware of little things such as a reusable water bottle, but sometimes I would forget, now I have it with me everywhere I go to limit the temptation of just buying a plastic one. -
Jamie Segrini 4/19/2022 12:25 AMNew habits that have been part of my routine include using bike share, setting down my phone, being anal ab0ut turning off water while brushing my teeth and turning off lights while not in the room -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?
Jamie Segrini 4/19/2022 12:23 AMSimply sitting down and enjoying a meal to yourself can let your mind open and create a sense of relaxation, at first, it was weird, using my phone when I get lunch by myself, or even with people has been so common, but putting, and leaving it down is a mind opening experience. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
Jamie Segrini 4/19/2022 12:22 AMUsing creativity is very important, finding ways to reuse items for example, or in the case or buying using needs or wants, using creativity to imagine if you need something, or is their something you already have that could replace this item. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Less Screen TimeWhat did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?
Jamie Segrini 4/19/2022 12:20 AMBy doing this challenge, I set my phone down while doing things I normally find myself picking up my phone as a distraction. By doing this I found myself able to focus on what I'm doing, and also appreciate it more . -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Buy From a Farmers MarketWhat is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?
