  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

The impact that human activities have on the health of our water systems are things such as, chemical waste, bio-waste, and physical waste. Chemical waste comes from the ships, and from factories that dump into the ocean. Bio-waste is from us and the sewage system. Physical waste is all the stuff that is littered and goes down the storm drain. A few ways I can personally improve the health of waterways is to use reusable things such as water bottles and straws. I can also look into the companies I purchase from and make sure they have programs to help reduce the a waste and pollution to the ocean.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Say No to Plastic Straws
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

I tend to use a good amount of plastic bags. I try to use the reusable but I always forget them at home when I go shopping. If I remember the bags, I think that will really help with sustainability
