REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Do Nature ActivitiesWhat did you observe while spending time outside -- through sight, sound, smell and/or touch?
Hannah Sheehan 10/22/2018 12:38 PMI went for a walk through the woods on our trails and experienced the crisp autumn air coupled with the crunching of the fallen leaves. It was sunny so I felt some warmth but the wind kept my skin covered in goosebumps. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Go For A Daily Walk OutsideFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Hannah Sheehan 10/22/2018 12:35 PMThis is definitely true for me. I used to think just standing up and walking around inside was a good study break but I feel more refreshed after walking outside for a few minutes instead. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Join An Outdoor ProjectHow well do you know the area you stay in -- whether your hometown or your campus community? In what ways is a deep knowledge of your surroundings -- known as a 'sense of place' -- important to you?
Hannah Sheehan 10/20/2018 2:49 PMI wish I knew this area better. I don't always have time to explore and see the woods nearby and I'm not the first person to notice new places. I'd like to get better at that. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Walk InsteadHalf of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Does this statistic describe your own transportation habits? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?
Hannah Sheehan 10/17/2018 7:24 AMIt definitely does. I don’t like walking in the rain when I have my backpack with my laptop in it and I don’t like walking home from work at night. Sometimes I will ask for a ride from a friend if they are coming back from a trip. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Explore My AreaHow might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?
Hannah Sheehan 10/16/2018 8:58 PMI just love getting out and doing something. It helps me to find my center when I ramble out to explore places alone. Good reflection time -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Go get a check upHow do you practice self care?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Hannah Sheehan 10/16/2018 8:56 PMIt helps me to keep track of my relationships with other people. I’m able to track my progress and it helps me to reflect of how meaningful my interactions are. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Hannah Sheehan 10/16/2018 8:48 PMI listen to something mentally stimulating before bed like a documentary or I read until I become to tired to keep my eyes open. Then I practice deep breathing texhniques to calmness my body before sleep. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Meet My NeighborsIn what ways can you create more real and meaningful interactions with friends — or strangers — each week?
Hannah Sheehan 10/16/2018 8:42 PMPut down the phone and chat with people standing outside of your class! Make small talk about the homework or other assignments. Face to Face interactions are fun
