REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?
Destiny Suarez 4/19/2021 9:22 AMI only cook the proportions that I know I will eat fully! I also have limited myself to eating what I need and not what I want. I believe it helps me practice mindfulness because I don't want to waste food especially if I don't eat it! The times I do accidently over serve myself, I do my best to finish it or offer it to my family members who 99% of the time finish it for me. Some of our food we cook too can be given to our dog, such as the vegetables and fruits. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Work-Life BalanceHow might practicing work-life balance lead to a more sustainable life for yourself? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?
Destiny Suarez 4/19/2021 9:13 AMThis one is hard because most people NEED to work over 8 hours a day in order to survive financially. I try to limit myself to only working on what I need necessary. This would help on the sustainable level by helping reduce the strain on my body and relieve my stress of over exhausting myself. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Go For A Daily Walk OutsideFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Destiny Suarez 4/19/2021 9:12 AMI've started to walk almost every day while taking my dog on a walk with me. Not only does it help me take a breathe and just enjoy the fresh air with my dog, but it gives me time to heal if my day was a mess. It's also great for me to take a moment to think of what my next task will be and such. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Heat and Cool NaturallyWhat are other ways you could use the power of the sun to reduce your own environmental footprint?
Destiny Suarez 4/19/2021 9:10 AMSolar Energy! One of my big goals is to get an electric car but have solar panels installed on our house so the energy we are using up is from natural sun energy -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Power Down the ComputerWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Destiny Suarez 4/19/2021 9:09 AMWhat I have been practicing is using the natural light from my windows for my zoom calls so I don't turn on the lights in my house! I've also been practicing turning off all of my electronics before I leave the house or when I am not using them -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Switch to Cold WaterWhat do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?
Destiny Suarez 4/19/2021 9:06 AMI would put that money into other bills that way I can pay off bills faster and more efficiently.
