Kaitlynn's actions
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Food
Choose Organic Ingredients
I will enjoy 2 meal(s) cooked with organic ingredients each day.
Water
Use Reusable Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 2 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Use Reusable BottlesWhat are some of the needs that water meets or benefits that water provides for you?
Kaitlynn Swenson 3/01/2021 7:48 PMWater always me to stay healthy and hydrated. I especially drink a lot of it during dance practice and work. It allows me to keep my energy up during these activities. If I am hydrated, I tend to get less headaches and have more energy/not as tired. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Kaitlynn Swenson 3/01/2021 7:46 PMI could reduce by not using throw-away dishes such as paper plates and plastic silverware. I could reuse by refilling plastic water bottles or washing off plastic silverware to get more uses out of them (If these were things I used). I could refuse to use plastic straws/water bottles, and instead use metal (or no) straws and reusable water bottles. I could repair by sewing a hole in clothing to fix it instead of throwing it away. I could repurpose by giving clothes I don't want to my sister, friends, or Goodwill for example. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Choose Organic IngredientsMany people say that “you can’t feed the world with just organic food.” How would you respond to that statement?
Kaitlynn Swenson 3/01/2021 7:40 PMI would disagree with that statement because my family eats mostly organic food. If that food has the option of being organic, that's the one we get. There are so many organic foods out there so I believe that the world could definitely be fed with just organic food.
