I will keep 5 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Power Down the ComputerWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Tim Topper 4/01/2020 1:47 PMStart unplugging items in your living space that you're not using - especially when you leave the house. Items still pull electricity from the outlet when not in use! -
Tim Topper 4/01/2020 10:49 AMWhile our individual actions may seem insignificant, especially during this unique time in history where the world is at home, this impact can help influence others to make a positive difference in their lives, community, and the world. Ecochallenge provides a great opportunity for Chapman University students to get involved virtually and take action on their own and I'm proud to be a part of the Civic Panthers team and a further engaged as a global citizen. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater 5-Minute ShowersName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
Tim Topper 4/01/2020 10:44 AMLess is more. By avoiding long showers not only am I saving on my water bill, but the long term effects of having a community use less more water can make a big difference. Less water I use = less potable water that needs to be found/used = keeps California's water table healthy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Tim Topper 4/01/2020 9:06 AMWhile there are currently no barriers preventing me from using a reusable bottle, I am cognizant that the same tap water I am drinking is technically sea to drink but only due to regional standards and practices. I am also able to use my water bottle more than once due to the ability to rinse and wash my current container to prevent the spread of bacteria.
