Under the resilience category, I chose the action of meeting a new neighbor everyday. First semester, I was very secluded in my residence hall and knew maybe a few friends on my floor. Since, second semester has started though, I have tried to be more social with those I see in my hall and I will continue this so I can keep making friends.

The other one time action I chose is signing up for ride share, which is a carpool service most universities have. So, I found out some information about the app, which I signed up through with Facebook. I have tried learning about this app before when wanting to visit my boyfriend two hours away in Iowa. But, I officially signed up and will be looking for rides to my hometown Appleton soon.

When observing the actions, I viewed the one time action of switching to cold water, which is something I have been attempting recently anyway, due to the benefits on the environment and my hair. So, recently, while taking showers, I have tried to take them as cold as possible, or at least end with a cold shower.

Since my last goals were water and plastic related, I picked actions this time that related to my physical health. I chose eating more fruits and vegetables and doing a 45 minute physical activity. So, at breakfast, I drank a smoothie and ate a cup of pineapple from the Whitney Center. In addition, I joined a 45 minute group fitness cycling class at the UWL Rec. I really enjoyed the cycling class, I always avoid going to workout or signing up for group fitness classes, but once I am there, I am always thankful I signed up.

My goals for today was to save plastic straws and reduce my plastic water bottle usage. I went to Starbucks, but made sure not to take a plastic straw. Additionally, in my room, I use metal straws for most of my drinks. As for saving plastic water bottles. I try to fill up my hydro flask every time instead of using a plastic water bottle, but whenever I eat at the Whitney Dining Center, I take a few plastic water bottles to bring back to my dorm. These water bottles are eventually used by myself, roommate, or friends that visit. My goal is to stop taking water bottles and instead invest in some disposable water cups to use in my room instead of drinking from plastic water bottles.
