Erica's actions
Health
Know My health
I will get my Core Four Biometrics tests (blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and BMI).
Health
Go get a check up
I will make an appointment for my annual physical.
Nature
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a 15-minute walk outside each day.
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 2 meatless meal(s) and/or 1 vegan meal(s) each day this week.
Transportation
Drive Less
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips.
Community
Talk To My Friends and Classmates
I will decide which social or environmental issue in my community is most important to me and tell 2 friends and/or classmates each day about the issue.
Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Cheap, single-use items and disposable packaging end up blowing around as litter more often in poor and POC-majority neighborhoods. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Health
Support Pollution Reduction
I will spend at least 10 minutes learning about water and air quality issues in my area, how they are impacting human and environmental health, and how I can help.
Health
Reduce refined sugar
I will keep track and reduce my consumption of refined sugars, including sweetened beverages, candy, and processed foods.
Health
Eliminate Toxic Plastics
I will avoid buying toxic plastics - including polycarbonate, polystyrene and polyvinyl - and instead replace them with durable non-plastic options.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 45 minute(s) each day.
Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Erica Vice 11/19/2021 10:34 AMThis week i have been doing extremely well with getting my homework done on time and fitting time in to exercise. I went to the grocery store today and stoped myself from buying meat products and instead bought more vegetables and plant based products. -
Erica Vice 11/11/2021 1:23 PMThis week has been a little hectic with more school work as the semester is starting to end. I have started to get a routine going every week so i can complete these challenges while still having time for school and homework. -

Erica Vice 10/08/2021 1:12 PMThis week has been more of a challenge for me because i was sick I got more food to go than i normally do which caused me to use more single use plastic this week. -
Erica Vice 9/28/2021 5:37 PMMy campus eco challenge is going good so far. I am finding obstacles when trying to reduce my plastic waste on campus due to campus only providing single use plastic ware and forgetting to bring my own silverware.
