McKenzie's actions
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
If at all possible, I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Community
Volunteer in my Community
I will volunteer 6 hour(s) in my community during the challenge.
Nature
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a 15-minute walk outside each day.
Simplicity
Limit Social Media
I will limit my social media use to once each day reducing my daily use by 60 minute(s)
Community
SIGN UP TO VOTE
I will make sure I’m registered to vote. While I’m at it, I’ll sign up to help others register too!
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer in my CommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
McKenzie Watts 3/30/2022 12:55 PMOver the weekend, I volunteered on campus to raise food for the Open Door Mission, a non-profit in Rochester that provides food, clothing, and shelter to the homeless. The group I volunteered with raised over 200 pounds of food for those in need. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
McKenzie Watts 3/29/2022 4:18 PMI took a walk about campus today to go see squirrels. I love squirrels and didn't see them around very much where I grew up. I was able to get very up close and personal with a squirrel outside of Gosnell. He sat there for like 5 minutes eating a nut, and it was a very pleasant experience for me.
