REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Elyse Zeswitz 4/22/2021 12:29 PMI try to practice gratitude as one of the first things I do in my day. That way, I can appreciate myself and the things around me. Through doing this, I'm motivated to get things done and feel better to start the day. I think it is important for all of us to reflect on the good things in our life rather than focusing on our mistakes or problems. -

Speaking of walking, the theme of today is Transportation. See if you can travel more sustainably... can you bike, walk, or car share instead of driving? Again, Happy Earth dayyyyy -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Whole Food LifestyleMichael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this assertion?
Elyse Zeswitz 4/21/2021 3:14 PMI think this is a good mindset. It's better to be proactive with your health rather than reactive. Eating healthier and maintaining your health are so important, and being intentional with your food choices can be a great start. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Switch to Cold WaterWhat do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?
Elyse Zeswitz 4/21/2021 3:13 PMI plan to use the money on groceries! Using efficient appliances allows you to save or spend the money that would have been added to your bills. -

I am planning on going for a walk, exploring, and being gracious for nature and what it provides. This is my favorite theme because nature always puts me at peace, and it's amazing what beautiful and diverse nature we have, so I love intentionally taking time to appreciate it. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Support Local PollinatorsWhy is it important to take care of pollinators?
Elyse Zeswitz 4/15/2021 11:00 AMEverything in ecosystems is interconnected, so when you lose pollinators, you disrupt the entire ecosystem. Some pollinators, like bees, are keystone species that pollinate plants that sustain ecosystems and other species (like us!). At St. Thomas, we have the "pollinator path" which supports an endangered bee species in the Twin Cities area! -
