REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Limit Social MediaSocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
Elyse Collyer 4/18/2021 9:06 PMI have been limiting my social media usage for a while now and find myself less drawn to it when I'm bored or not doing anything. Instead, I've gotten more comfortable just sitting and not doing anything in particular and just reflecting to fill my time! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Join a Local CSADependable fresh food, better prices (cutting out carbon-heavy supply chain and grocery stores), supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these benefits (or others not listed here) inspires you the most?
Elyse Collyer 4/13/2021 7:44 PMMy roommates and I just signed up for Mhonpaj's Garden CSA!! They are a certified organic family farm in the Stillwater Area. Owned by May Lee and her daughter Mhonpaj, they were accepted into the New Immigrant Agriculture Program (now called the Farmer Education Program) in 2007 and are now the first Hmong-owned certified organic farm in Minnesota!

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Choose Clean/Renewable EnergyHow might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to clean energy?
Elyse Collyer 4/13/2021 6:38 PMAs an apartment, we chose to reevaluate what we can do to make our living space more sustainable. We decided to switch to 100% renewable energy (it's only $5-7 more a month!!), check on and switch out non-LED lights, and reduce our flushing! We live in an old apartment building that has old fixtures so we hope by making some of these changes we improve our environmental impact! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Core ValuesWhat are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?
Elyse Collyer 4/12/2021 6:44 PMMy top five values are Nature, Learning, Justice, Change, and Determination! These values have been with me since I was young and have only developed to become more of who I am as I have gotten older and more involved with these values. I have also learned that they work extremely well together and I find I am happiest when I am involved in opportunities that bring all five together.-
Sia von Weiss 4/13/2021 6:50 PMI like your values :)
