    Water 5-Minute Showers
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

Some of the humans activities that impact the health of water would be the disposing of plastic. Recycling correctly and pick up any plastic bags or any type of trash littering around oceans, rivers, lake etc.

a hundred percent correct Monica plastics are so bad on almost all levels and they negatively impact the health of water systems, but I believe that preventing all this plastic from becoming waste and creating such a huge problem is more important than recycling and that cutting and reducing single-use plastic would be one way to have healthy water systems locally and globally.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Limit Social Media
Social media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?

Hi Monica, it is great to hear that you have been able to have more time for homework and that your time management has improved. Social media does take time from us, I especially have experienced this as well. But, when one is able to disconnect from social media and do other things with that time, it makes one feel better:).
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

To be honest It does surprise me that people spend a lot of money and then throw out the food because today everything is expensive and i rather save money to pay rent or gas because that is expensive as well.

Hi Monica, I agree with you it doesn't surprise me either that family's are spending that amount of money on food that just went to waste. I've been living on my own with roommates for a couple years now and when we buy groceries its hard to consume everything before the expiration date because we all like different things. For example one thing that we usually almost never finish before the expiration date is the milk. I personally have struggled trying to find the right balance when shopping for groceries and its no easy task.
