  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Walk Instead
Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Does this statistic describe your own transportation habits? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?

Being in college and living in a college town, most things are in walking distance; class, grocery stores, park, etc.. I think that a lot of people walk during the warmer months, but not a lot during the winter months. However, I feel that it's a feasible and beneficial thing to walk/ride a bike to places in the warmer months especially, as much as you can. Winter months, it would be better to take public transportation than walking or taking your own car.

I most definitely agree that I see lots of people walking and riding bikes in the warmer months. Do you think there could be a way to incentivize more people to ride bikes of co-communte during winter ?
