Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Healthy Sleep
Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?

I would love to get 8 hours of consistent sleep each night. I find that giving myself adequate time to unwind before bed helps me get to sleep on time.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

I think that it is true for me. I feel very connected and centered when I am outside, I think because it shows me what the earth is capable of and it is just constantly awe-inspiring. I think a culture that spends most of its time outdoors is one that is connected to sustainability, in community with others, and able to find a sense of personal peace.

I already eat a lot of fruit, but I had to work hard to get vegetables in there.

I changed up my actions a bit to hold myself more accountable since this is my second annual eco challenge with St. Thomas and I'm getting more versed in sustainable swaps. Glad to step up!

Really excited to do even more tomorrow and try engaging in learning, rather than just action.
