REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Disconnect from EmailNotice how much time you were spending checking email away from work and make note of that. Now that you have stepped away from it and have not been checking, what changes are you noticing in your thoughts, use of time, stress and energy levels?
Adriana Guzman 11/24/2018 6:09 PMI am able to focus on my own studies for school or enjoying my own time with friends or reading. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Go PaperlessReducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
Adriana Guzman 11/24/2018 6:09 PMI reduced the amount of paper mail I have with banks and subscriptions and de-cluttering the paper de-clutters my mind. I can make sure my paper waste goes to the necessary place as well as monitoring my other waste. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth More Fruits and VeggiesHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
Adriana Guzman 11/24/2018 6:07 PMPeople in North America eat so much more meat with the idea of wealth surrounding meat. Not everyone can afford meat and being able to have such a "luxury" motivates North Americans. Shifting from this would be more beneficial to the environment as cows produce methane, a greenhouse gas that harms the ozone. If we are bale to eat only 30% nationally it would definitely benefit the planet as well as our health. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Adriana Guzman 10/15/2018 12:05 AMProtein is important when planning your meals but meat doesn't necessarily need to be the main source. There is protein in eggs, quinoa, and dried beans. There is an overproduction of meat as well as the amount being consumed in North America. It shows how unhealthy and non-concerning we are for the better of the environment. The amount of methane produced by cows multiples by millions is damaging to the environment. The amount of meat we eat and are producing need to be heavily cut down. We would need to show there us healthier cheaper options with better health benefits than eating meat. I would say putting higher taxes on meat would definitely inhibit the amount of meat that will be eaten by North Americans. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Adriana Guzman 10/11/2018 6:04 AMI want my sleep patterns and my daily routine to actually be a routine. When I did get at least 7 hours for a couple of days like 2 weeks ago my body felt well rested. So i need to work on being motivated to get what I need done before going to sleep. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity De-Clutter My Home or Dorm RoomHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more unnecessary things in the future?
Adriana Guzman 10/11/2018 6:02 AMI need to understand what is a need versus what is a want. I need to make sure to keep myself organized and keep the essentials of my daily life and restocking when necessary. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Power Down the ComputerWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Adriana Guzman 10/11/2018 6:01 AMThe easiest way is to us power strips and turning off said power strips when not in use. This feature is helpful in limiting the amount of wasted energy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Adriana Guzman 10/10/2018 7:45 PMI think it's important to remember what motivates you, and what makes you happy. The mindset of understanding that your actions don't just affect you, but the people around you as well, is very important. So practicing gratitude causes me to be motivated that my actions in wanting a better world will be for the better. What I do isn't for nothing.
