Joining an Event
I joined an environment event for my community where I chose to listen and present information about the environment and how to be sustainable. REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Host A Watch PartyWhat did you learn about in the documentary you watched? How did it make you feel?
Hannah Pulido 3/15/2021 10:35 PMWe watched a documentary called "Kiss the Ground for Schools." It was about soiling affecting our climate and how the dirt can help/replenish/restore the earth from toxic chemicals. These toxic chemicals are causing soil to go in the process of desertification. When we destroy the soil, the carbon goes back to the atmosphere and it pushes away the clouds therefore causes it not to rain. That is why we need to be more careful in what we let out on the earth and be more responsible about our environment. We can reverse these changes by diversifying our crops, letting cattle roam around our farms, changing our diet by barely eating meat, and composting our scraps. The documentary made me want to talk about these issues because not a lot of people think about the dirt being useful. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Hannah Pulido 3/15/2021 10:03 PMMeat is expensive; people that rich can access a lot of it. Eating a lot of meat can cause a lot of health issues in the future. There is barely a need to eat meat since we can gain the nutrients/vitamins from other food. Livestock farming has contributed to the some environmental damages and it's taking up resources that individuals who are starving could eat. That is why we should start to shift to a vegetarian-esque diet. -
Hannah Pulido 2/17/2021 4:17 PMWhat I learned this week is that dairy is actually addictive :00, it has caused individuals to have a higher risk of osteoporosis. ik shocker right.... and we don’t actually have to eat a lot of meat... there was a study on how A LOT of our foods are GM and not even natural. People who sell “healthy” food have lied about what we should eat to in order to make us buy their products T-T -
Hannah Pulido 2/05/2021 6:22 PMGiving up meat is so hard.... like why do non-vegan food taste so good???? some vegan alternatives taste really weird and sus. Probably because I’m not used to them BUT still.-
Scotty Miranda (FIRE TRUCK) 2/07/2021 1:29 PMidk bout u but something aboutsqueezing the milk out of a cowis tasty like milk is a banger ngl

Hannah Pulido 1/27/2021 3:27 PMI kinda broke my sugar fast because I was stress eating.... the chocolate looked very appetizing sooo I partook of it and history happened. Sorry for the betrayal 😅😖 Here’s a puppy to make u forgive me...... -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Take ControlHow do environmental health, community health, and your personal health intersect?
Hannah Pulido 1/20/2021 7:23 PMthey all intersect because when you take care of one thing you take care of another; they all kind of link to each other. any help can serve as help for all :) like when you help the earth, the earth will become better for the people around you thus you will live a happier life -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Go For A Daily Walk OutsideFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Hannah Pulido 1/19/2021 10:37 PMIt makes me feel more productive and proactive in the day especially when I take a walk in the morning I feel healthier. It made me do more work and take time for myself. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Hannah Pulido 1/18/2021 10:07 PMWhen exercising you can go out with your friends and exercise in the park, maybe starting "classes" with random people + friends. Going hiking is fun with friends or maybe going to a lake to go swimming. Going on bike rides on trails and more things like that. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Less Screen TimeWhat did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?
Hannah Pulido 1/14/2021 7:50 PMto be honest, I realized that being on screen the whole day makes me feel lethargic and unmotivated. after taking time for myself + being off my phone, there's a lot of things that I can do. I feel like I have more time in the day to do something fun and interactive. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Learn About Renewable EnergyWhat inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?
Hannah Pulido 1/13/2021 7:30 PMthe earth is literally so beautiful and there’s a lot of things that I want other people to experience. if we continue hurting the earth by not taking care of it, then what will the earth become? will it still be beautiful or will it gradually destroy itself because of how we affect it with non natural objects.... i just want to help the earth become better so everyone can enjoy it since has done a lot of things for us :)
