Water

Say No to Plastic Straws

An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

Hi Eva, I love your statement that your beliefs are aligned with your happiness. I think staying true to positivity instead of negativity provides us all a stronger foundation on our mental health.  As we continue to provide ourselves happiness, it definitely doesn't hurt to give someone else happiness in their life (If you can).

Focusing on life is a great way to focus on happiness and being grateful for life which is also one of my answers. Another answer would be to focus more on my art and appreciate all the skills I have learned over time with different medias.

I often use coffee cups, but I have set a goal to use reusable tumblrs. More stylish and more healthy for the planet.

Hi Eva! I agree! Not only do reusable tumblers benefit the environment, they also look incredibly stylish. I myself need to invest in a cute little mug or coffee tumbler for work. I drink a lot of coffee but often use disposable cups. A bad habit I need to change.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

The barrier to using tap water is that it is not always clean. However, using gallons of water and reusable water bottles can reduce the waste of plastic bottles.

Hi Eva. I agree with you, tap water is not always clean. I think that if we would boil the tap water it could potentially cleanse the water and then cool it for consumption. It could become a permanent habit however it would be time consuming.
