A lack of nutritious food in the community or also known as a “food desert” can lead to obesity, depression, and a non-healthy lifestyle. Having access to healthy food within the community can fight back against these problems.

In my opinion virtual meetings are just the same value wise and culture wise. The only main difference is the location. As long as every has their voice heard it is the same as an in-person meeting.

practicing gratitude keeps me centered by always reminding me to treat others how I would like to be treated. Knowing that if everyone could take the same amount of time out of their day as I do to show my gratitude is one thing that keeps me motivated along with just reminding my friends when we are out in public to be polite and thankful to the workers in stores.

Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this assertion?

I believe eating healthy and taking care of your body is the foundation of which our health is based upon. Making sure we are eating and drinking things that are good for us, even if it cost a little bit more upfront is a way better investment , than paying for more expensive doctor visits down the line that could have been easily avoided by eating and drinking healthier foods and drinks.

I think it eating healthy is a very proactive thing you can do to save yourself a trip to the doctor's office. At the same time, it is also important to eat healthy in order to receive all the nutrients your body needs on a daily basis.

Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

Some barriers that one might come across when trying to is that they don't want to go out and buy a reusable water bottle or they have one and always forget to use it. One thing that I have started to do to make using a reusable water bottle a more permanent habit is I like to put stickers on my water bottle that I like to show off to my friends and. Another thing I can do is just getting in the habit of filling my water bottle up every day in the morning so when I need water it is already there, rather than going to the RedZone to buy water.

One thing that I like to do when hosting a zoom meeting for the volunteer program that I am apart of is to have a small little running outline of the main points I would like to bring up at that meeting.
