I’m not sure I’ll notice significant cost savings.  Our electric bill is actually quite reasonable already.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Adjust the Thermostat
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

We actually use less than average.  I would love solar for running our pool pump in summer.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Insulate Water Pipes and Water Heater
How do you think climate change will affect your region’s water supply? Think about the effects of weather, storms, salinity, and sea level rise, among other changes. How can you find out more about climate change’s impact to your region's water?

Insulating was easy and inexpensive.  I did read though that there are more impactful ways to reduce water heating expenses.  First, set your water tank to a lower temperature.  Second, do your hot water tasks in quick succession so that you take advantage of what is in the pipes.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Insulating water pipes turned out to be very easy and inexpensive, though I’ve read that a greater energy savings is to simply turn the temp down on your water tank.
