November 30 at 11:12 AMIts been going really well, I went to Yosemite Valley over the break and I not only practiced Leave No Trace, but I taught my friends that didn't know about it.
-
November 29 at 7:10 PMToday my sleep goal told me I got 7 hours and 13 minutes of sleep!
-
November 29 at 7:08 PMThings I am happy for: Good education, safe home, food on my table and clean water
-
November 22 at 1:38 PMI went for a bike ride and unplugged my computers charger
-
November 21 at 1:32 PMEating more meat affects our planet negatively because of the number of resources that go into producing meat. Off the top of my head, I know that it takes almost 2,000 gallons of water and 2 pounds of grain to produce 1 pound of beef. Livestock also creates methane and depending on the fertilizers used they also produce nitrous oxide emissions.

November 20 at 12:48 AMUsing too much water dries up rivers. The Carmel River is experiencing a 45% decreased water supply, and some rivers (the Colorado for example) never actually make it to the ocean. It is, however, a fallacy to believe that showering less puts a dent in one's water consumption. Eating one less steak makes up for dozens of showers.

November 20 at 12:46 AMWhenever I want to buy an item, I double check whether I actually need it and most often sleep on it. Most time, I don't need it. I try to get many things used and will try to pass them on if I don't need them anymore instead of throwing them away.
-
November 20 at 12:45 AMYes, because naturally, those who consume in excess will need to reduce their consumption greatly before anyone less privieged can be expected to do so as well.
-
November 20 at 12:44 AMThis is exactly why I think it is important to appreciate one's natural environment with all senses. It can be a spiritual experience. Also, only true appreciation of the natural environment makes one want to commit to preserving it
-
November 20 at 12:42 AMI love cycling and connecting to my surroundings by taking them in with all my senses while I ride through them.
