I was fortunate enough today to spend time doing art. I love drawing and painting but with school I barely have time. It was lovely to spend time today away from my phone and focusing on myself and my thoughts. It’s not finished yet, but here’s what I have so far.

While I don’t pay the bills, I’m sure my mother will use the extra money to pay for other household expensives.

Drinking water makes me feel healthier and more energized. Any time I drink coffee or juice, I don’t feel too well after. I make sure to carry my reusable water bottle with me everywhere.

Purchasing reusable products is extremely important. I have reusable containers for bringing my lunch to work instead of one time to-go boxes. If I do get a plastic to go box from a restaurant, I wash it afterwards and save it for more uses. I also use reusable water bottles to decrease my plastic bottle usage.

Charge your phone during the day rather than leaving plugged in overnight. Then, unplug the charger when it is not in use.

Instead of using tinfoil or plastic bags to hold my sandwich that I bring to school, I have been using a reusable container! I also have been bringing my own reusable bags while shopping, and even not taking a bag at all. I even work at a shoe store, and I always ask the people I ring up If they would like a bag, Instead of automatically giving...

On Saturday I participated In a community event, which entailed completing crafts with kids who have cancer. Not only did this event make the children happy, but my craft allowed for them to experience nature In a fun way. We made hedgehogs that had leaves glued to them, and the leaves looked like their quills. This taught the children that...

This doesnt have a lot to do with going green, but one of my goals on here is "helping others". I really do try to help people every day. It isnt just for this campus challenge thing. I've always been this way. But last monday, nov 4th, you may have heard about a death on campus. She was my friend and despite what some other people...

Today I went out to eat with my friends, and one of us said we didn't need straws. Our waitress asked if it was because we were trying to save  the turtles, and I gave him a speech saying that it was not only the turtles but also our environment, oceans and ourselves. We  all used our reusable straws and he said he was starting to think about...

Practicing gratitude allows me to reflect on the positive things on the world, and forget about the obstacles in my way. Reflecting on these "gifts" demonstrate that there are good things in life that I need to start focusing more on.
