April 25 at 10:04 AMMinnesota has a large Native population, and a lot of the water resources that they hold sacred have been endangered by companies trying to build pipelines, or harmed from drilling. I’ve gone to a couple of water warrior gatherings up north to help raise awareness and protest the pipeline they’re planning.

April 24 at 10:29 AMUsing skip the straws is a great way to start incorporating the “R’s”! Bringing reusable bags to the grocery store and using reusable water bottles are other great ways to use the “R’s”.

April 23 at 9:16 PMWhile walking instead of driving, you’re able to take in so much more of the neighborhood. You can smell bonfires, hear kids playing or dogs barking, and really just feel more connected to the environment and community.

April 23 at 9:12 PMSince I’m living at home this year, I’ve been able to expand my herb garden that I usually have in containers. I’ve added lavender to my usual basil, mint, sage, and rosemary this year!

April 23 at 9:07 PMThe ecochallenge has helped encourage me to compost more. My roommates and I have just started composting and we are still learning but it has been a rewarding experience so far.

April 23 at 8:06 PMI am new-ish to composting! It has become one of my favorite things and I am so glad that the food excess will go to hopefully help something new grow!
